उसके नजदीक गम-ए-तर्क-ए-वफा कुछ भी नहीं,
मुतमईं ऐसे है वो जैसे हुआ कुछ भी नहीं,
Uske nazdeek gham-e-tark-e-wafa kuch v nahi,
Close to(According to) her/him there is no logic on the pain of faithfulness,
Mutmaee aise hai wo jaise hua kuch v nahi,
She is quiet(satisfied or tranquil) as like as if nothing happened

अब तो हाथो से लकीरें भी मीटी जाती है,
उसको खोकर मेरे पास रहा कुछ भी नहीं,
Ab to hatho'n se lakirey miti jaati hai,
Now the ridges are also being eradicated by hand,
Usko khokar mere pas Raha kuch v nahi,
(Now) I have nothing left after loosing her/him,

मैं तो इसलिए चुप हूं कि तमाशा न बनें,
तू समझता है कि मुझे तुझसे गिला कुछ भी नहीं,
Maito isliye chup hu ki tamasha na bane,
I am silent 'not to be(I don't want to make)' spectacle,
Tu samajhta hai ki mujhe tujhse gila kuch v nahi,
(And) You think that I have nothing to say(complain),

चार दिन रह गये मेले में मगर अबके भी,
उसने आने के लिए खत में लिखा कुछ भी नहीं,
Char din rah Gaye mele me Magar ab k bhi,
(Only) Four days remain in the Fair but still now,
Usne aane k liye khat me likha kuch v nahi,
He/she wrote nothing in Letter about his/her coming,

कल बिछड़ना है तो अहद-ए-वफा सोच के बांध,
अभी आगाज-ए-मोहब्बत है गया कुछ भी नहीं,
Kal bichhadna hai to ahad-e-wafa soch k baandh,
If we will separate tomorrow then think before tying(making) any promise of faithfulness,
Abhi aaghaz-e-Mohabbat hai Gaya kuch v nahi,
It just beginning of love, nothing (we) have lost still,

ऐ 'सुमार' आंखें इसी तरह बिछाये रखना,
जाने वो किस वक़्त आ जाये, पता कुछ भी नहीं,
Ay 'Shumar' aankhe isi tarah bichhaye rakhna,
O 'Shumar'  lay your eyes like this,
Jaane kis waqt wo aa jae, pata kuch v nahi
(Don't know) At what time does he/she come, (I) don't know nothing...
